CustTV is a media player only. It ships with no channels, streams, or content, and we do not sell, host, supply, or control any media, subscriptions, or content sources. You connect your own Ministra/Stalker portal from your own provider and are solely responsible for it. We do not promote, encourage, or condone access to unauthorized or illegal content.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data CustTV collects, why, and your rights over it. It covers the CustTV website (custtv.com) and the CustTV apps.
1. Introduction
CustTV (“we”, “us”) operates this website and the CustTV apps and is the data controller for the personal data described here. We keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run a media-player app and website.
2. Our neutral role
CustTV is a media player only. We do not sell, host, or supply content or content sources, and we do not track, log, profile, or build a record of what you watch, listen to, or search for on the portal you connect. What you play through your own portal is between you and your provider.
3. Information we collect
Account & purchase information
When you create an account or buy a licence, we process your email address and basic account and licence details. Payments are handled by our payment processors (Stripe and PayPal) — we do not receive or store your full card number.
Portal connection details
To do its job, the app stores the portal URL and credentials you enter so it can connect your device to your provider. These are used only to establish that connection on your behalf. We do not sell them, use them to access your provider for our own purposes, or share them except as needed to provide the service. You can remove them at any time from within the app or your account.
Device & pairing information
To link devices to your account (for example, TV pairing via a short code), we process basic device identifiers and pairing information.
Diagnostic & usage data
We may process limited technical data such as app version, crash reports, and error logs to keep the app stable and secure. This is kept to a minimum and is not used to profile you.
Website
The custtv.com website sets no cookies and runs no third-party advertising or analytics trackers. Our host may process standard server logs (such as IP address) for security and reliability.
4. How we use your information
- to provide the app and connect your device to the portal you choose;
- to create and manage your account and licence, and to enable multi-device sign-in;
- to process payments and provide receipts and support;
- to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix bugs; and
- to meet our legal obligations.
5. What we never do
- We never sell or rent your personal data.
- We never monitor, log, or share a record of the specific content you access through your portal.
- We never use your portal credentials for anything other than connecting you to your provider.
- We never run advertising trackers on our website.
6. Legal bases (where GDPR/UK GDPR applies)
We rely on: contract (to provide the app and your licence), legitimate interests (to keep the service secure and improve stability), consent (where we ask for it), and legal obligation (for example, tax and accounting records).
7. Sharing & processors
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run CustTV, under contract, including:
- Stripe and PayPal — payment processing;
- Apple App Store and Google Play — where you install via a store;
- Cloudflare — website hosting and security;
- TMDB — to fetch public metadata and artwork so libraries look complete (this involves lookups, not sharing your identity).
We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights. We do not sell data to anyone.
8. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above — for the life of your account plus any period required by law (for example, financial records). Diagnostic data is kept only for a short period and is then deleted or anonymised. When data is no longer needed, we remove it.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly to any issue.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. To exercise any right, email privacy@custtv.com and we will respond within the time required by law.
11. Children
CustTV is not directed to children and is not intended for use by anyone under 16 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
We and our processors may process data in countries other than yours. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as required by applicable law.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice.
